Taylor Swift's new album for 2014 debuts with "Shake It Off" last Monday; "1989" comes out on October 27.

Rumors of Taylor Swift's new album for 2014 were sparked two weeks ago when the singer posted what seemed like clues on her Instagram account, which eventually led to thirty minutes of live streaming on Yahoo Monday.

Her much anticipated album "1989" confirmed, Taylor releases the debut single "Shake It Off," hinting her shift towards the pop scene. Swift's career started in the mainstream country genre, but she verged towards pop in her succeeding releases.

Taylor announced three reveals to fans during Monday's event, kicking it off with a performance of her new single, co-penned and produced with Max Martin and Shellback. The team is credited for the edgy-pop vibe of Swift's previous releases "I Knew You Were Trouble" and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together."

She confirms she's breaking new ground, and the new single from Taylor Swift's new album for 2014 is "like nothing like anything I had done."

Swift's inspiration for "Shake It Off" is her experience over the last few years, saying "People can say whatever they want about us, at any time and we cannot control that. The only thing we can control is our reaction to that."

Her second announcement was confirmation of the album "1989," which is inspired by late 80's pop. The cover for the album shows a Polariod photo captioned with "T.S. 1989" underneath it. Copies of the album come with 13 photo inserts, assorted and random.

The "1989 Swiftstakes" was the singer's final announcement, with 1,000 tickets and 500 meet-and-greet passes up for grabs when she kicks off her next tour. There's a total of 1989 prizes to give away, a reference to the title of Taylor Swift's new album for 2014 (usatoday.com).

Swift describes new music in "1989," saying "I woke up every day ... not wanting, but needing to make a new style of music than I made before." (yahoo.com)
