Some people enjoy writing about fake celebrity death news and the latest to go viral online was the Justin Timberlake death hoax. This isn't the first time the actor became a victim of a false report so he must be used to getting all sorts of crazy news.
Fans of the 33-year old recording artist were shocked when they found out that he died due to a car accident. According to Mediamass, an R.I.P. Justin Timberlake Facebook page, which claimed that the singer passed away on Saturday, attracted millions of views.
The Facebook page looked authentic because there were even details written on the "About" page. It says there, "At about 11 a.m. ET on Sunday (August 17, 2014), our beloved singer Justin Timberlake passed away. Justin Timberlake was born on January 31, 1981 in Memphis. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page."
Many people thought that it was real, not knowing that it was just another Justin Timberlake death hoax. Last year, Jessica Biel's husband reportedly died of a vehicular accident. Global Associated News claimed, "Timberlake died in a single vehicle crash on Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell."
According to the website, Timberlake was over-speeding which resulted into a vehicular accident. Beside the report was a photo of the "Cry me a river" singer and an overturned car to make the news look more real. Travelers Today confirmed Justin's fake death news by posting: "He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics responding to the vehicle accident and was identified by photo ID found on his body."
The news site added, "Highway Safety Investigators have told reporters that Justin Timberlake lost control while driving a friend's vehicle on Interstate 80 and rolled the vehicle several times killing him instantly." To end Justin Timberlake's death hoax, his reps finally made a statement. They said, "He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet." Who do you think will be the next celebrity death hoax victim?
