The animated TV show Phineas and Ferb which airs on the Disney channel has had quite a successful run. It is popular with kids and young adults, and even not so young adults. Part of the reason for the show's popularity is the extensive list of famous movie and TV stars who have had a guest spot on the show.
Now, for the latest pop culture icon to make its mark on Phineas and Ferb, we have something zombie related just in time for the animated series' it's been announced that no other than the Simon Pegg and Nick Frost' movie Shaun of the Dead.
Simon Pegg himself announced this wonderful piece of news on his Twitter account, saying
"Here's news, @nickjfrost and myself will be once again stepping into Shaun and Ed's shoes for the #PhineasAndFerb Halloween special. W00t!!"
It's been ten years since the cult hit zombie movie has hit the big screen, and Shaun of the Dead's die-hard fans can now look forward to Shaun and Ed in their upcoming animated selves.
Over the years, since it started airing in 2007, Phineas and Ferb has been referencing film favorites, including, Star Trek, My Fair Lady, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Wizard of Oz, The Little Mermaid, and plenty of others.
The show's most recent pop culture homage was to Star Wars, and now the Simon Pegg and Nick Frost movie Shaun of the Dead will join these legendary films in being animated, Phineas and Ferb style.
The animated show debuted in 2007, and it follows the adventures and misadventures of two stepbrothers, Phineas and Ferb, whose sister always tries to get them caught by their mother. The boys' pet platypus Perry, also has his own adventures and it's always aimed at foiling the plans of the evil Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz.
