Tom Cruise's ex Katie Holmes plays as a killer/ elementary teacher as shown in her latest film "Miss Meadows" trailer. "The Giver" actress was also seen sharing a smooch with leading man James Badge Dale.

The 35-year-old mother-of-one showed of her tough side in "Miss Meadows" trailer as she plays a gun-totting teacher who moonlights as a killer, Just Jared said in a report.

"The most important things in life are kindness and courage," Katie Holmes was heard saying in a voice over.

Tom Cruise's ex Katie Holmes added, "There are bad people in the world and they shouldn't be around the good people, especially the little ones."

According to the Daily Mail, Katie Holmes' character protects children from bad people whom she hunts down and kills, as shown in the trailer which was first released on Tuesday via E! Online.

"Miss Meadows" trailer also revealed a scene where Katie Holmes had to share a smooch with co-star James Badge Dale.

The lead actor plays as a local sheriff who got attracted with Katie Holmes as he heads the trail on hunting down the killer.

In its latter part, the "Miss Meadows" trailer also showed a presumably younger version of Katie Holmes asking her mother, "Are we supposed to forgive everyone, Mommy?"

Her mother meanwhile said, "Not everyone my love. Some things are unforgivable."

"The Giver" actress Katie Holmes plays the lead role alongside co-stars James Badge Dale and Jean Smart in the Karen Leigh Hopkins-directed film.

According to reviews from Vanity Fair, Hollywood Reporter, and Indie Wire, Tom Cruise's ex Katie Holmes did a great job in playing her edgy and tough character. However, the film "Miss Meadows" itself received less than favorable reviews in its premiere in Tribeca Film Festival.

"Miss Meadows" is set to be release in limited cinemas on-demand in the US on November 14.
