Casey Kasem's wife was again slammed by the children of her late husband. In an open letter sent by Kerri Kasem to the Norweigan government, she and other family and friends of the beloved radio star protested Jean Kasem's plan to bury Casey Kasem in Norway, pleading to the country's officials: "Do not be fooled by his wife!".
According to a report from Daily Mail, Kerri Kasem, along with the "American Top 40" host's other children from his first marriage, slammed Casey Kasem's wife for her decision to bury their father in Norway.
A previous Daily Mail report revealed that Casey Kasem's missing body will be buried in Norway by his wife, Jean Kasem, who claims that she has Norwegian heritage.
Her stepdaughter, Kerri Kasem, made an open letter for Norweigan officials: "As beautiful as your country is, our father has never spoken of any desire to be buried in Norway either to us or to his friends. In fact, it was the opposite."
She went on: "Casey wanted to be buried in his hometown of Los Angeles, California, his home of over 53 years."
The concerned daughter then directed the issue to her stepmother: "Do not be fooled into believing his wife, Jean Kasem, who abandoned and isolated him during the last year of his life."
The letter attempted to discredit Casey Kasem's wife by explaining: "In fact, here is a quote from Jean's nephew Herbert "Tommy" Thompson who was named after Jean's father: 'As far as we know, we are English, German and Native American. We have never ever heard anyone speak of Norway or Norwegian for that matter in our house. We don't have an ounce of Norwegian blood to our knowledge'."
According to the Daily Mail report, Kerri Kasem explained the that the representations of Casey Kasem's wife "have been perpetuated by not only Jean, but her daughter Liberty because of the ongoing investigation from local authorities of criminal elder abuse."
The letter, signed by the family members of the late radio host and some of his close friends, said in closing: "We beg you, to please decline the request of Jean Kasem and her daughter Liberty to bury Casey Kasem in Norway."
The radio veteran's death has been surrounded by intrigues as Casey Kasem's children, led by Kerri Kasem, said their father was being kept away from them by their stepmother Jean.
According to People magazine, the whole fiasco started after the beloved radio star became sick with Parkinson's and dementia.
Casey Kasem was 82 when he died last June 15 at a hospital in Gig Harbor, Washington. Kerri Kasem then sent a lawyer to Gaffney Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Tacoma, Washington, where Casey Kasem's body was confirmed by police to be missing.
