One of Nicki Minaj's backup dancers for her "Anaconda" performance at Friday night's MTV Video Music Awards was allegedly bitten by a six-foot-long snake during rehearsals.
Following the accident, the dancer, whose name was not disclosed, was immediately brought to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to Billboard.
Ironically, the said dancer was bitten by an anaconda or a boa constrictor and although the bite of such animal is not venomous, they may still cause infections if left untreated, the same publication noted.
Captain Rory Brunner of the fire department recently spoke to the NY Daily News where he revealed that bringing the dancer to the hospital was done to make sure nothing was wrong with her.
Brunner also stressed that the snake scare wasn't really a big deal, after all it wasn't venomous.
Earlier this week, Minaj released the official music video of her song "Anaconda" and it received a slew of comments from people from all across the globe.
To date, the video has been viewed more than 49 million times via YouTube and has officially broken records.
Minaj confirmed the news via Twitter where she wrote, "AAAAHHHHH!!!! A new 24 hour RECORD!!!!!"
In the video, Minaj was featured dancing and twerking her booty while singing the words to her now highly popular song.
Also in the video, the "Pills N Potions" songstress showed off her lap dancing skills when she danced on Drake's lap and caused a stir in the online world.
Following the release of her infamous video, Minaj replied to some of her fan's questions via Twitter.
One Twitter user asked her whether or not her lap dance on Drake was rehearsed or spontaneous and Minaj teased that it was done spontaneously while she was drunk.
As of late, it is still unclear whether or not the singer was really drunk at that time. But one thing's for sure, Drake definitely enjoyed their racy moment in that video.
