Nicolas Cage in "Outcast" movie stuns everyone with his shabby image and appearance in the sweeping historical action-drama whose trailer graced the online universe just recently. However, the clip received mixed reviews, some stating that they find it confusing.

Based on the brief background provided by Entertainment Weekly, the setting of the "Outcast" movie was during the Crusades. The plot revolves around two Knights Templar; one of them is Nicolas Cage. The other knight is Hayden Christensen who played Anakin Skywalker in "Star Wars."

Disillusioned from the battles, they eventually become defenders of the murdered Chinese emperor's kids whose lives are in jeopardy. Their uncle is hunting them down, so he can have the throne to himself.

The Nicolas Cage in "Outcast" trailer looks anything but kempt. All scruffy with an overgrown beard matching funny hairdo and in dire need of a good bath, he refers to himself as the "white ghost." Some observers found the whole image of Nicolas Cage in "Outcast" interesting, but not in an entirely positive way.

According to Cinema Blend, the trailer may appeal to viewers whose idea of personal entertainment is poking fun at the off-the-wall ventures of the actor on screen. JoBlo on the other hand, expressed confusion after watching it.

JoBlo dissected the trailer to explain its confusion. First, there were scenes of the actors taking part in the Crusades. Then, it appears as if Hayden has gotten top billing advantages in the flick after outperforming Nicolas. Lastly, they were both plunged into scenes set in far off China where they find themselves collaborating to protect young Chinese royalty whose life is in peril.

Nonetheless, despite receiving rather unpleasant reviews, the trailer does not define the entire film. Cinema Blend cited other Nicolas Cage films in the works for the actor's fans who may not be so interested in the flick after viewing the trailer. As for JoBlo, it's still keeping its hopes up, acknowledging the possibility that the movie may prove far better than what the trailer offers.
