Ronda Rousey's next fight is being targeted for UFC 182. "Rowdy" also welcomes the challenge of the potential match-up against Gina Carano.
Ronda Rousey's next fight has yet to be given a date by the UFC, however, the reigning women's bantamweight champion is looking to be a part of the UFC 182 card headlined by light heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones and Daniel "DC" Cormier.
"Rowdy" revealed her intent for her next fight date in an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow.
"I would love to fight with Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier, I would love to be on the card with them," Rousey said.
While no final opponents have been named for Ronda Rousey's next fight, the list has been narrowed down to three names so far: Holly Holm, "Cyborg" Justino, and Gina Carano.
Among the three elite female fighters, Holly Holm could be the closest possible opponent for Ronda Rousey in the near future since she has already signed with the UFC. And like the champion that she is, "Rowdy" expressed her excitement for a future fight against the former three-division world boxing women's champion.
"I'm so excited that Holly Holm got signed," Rousey said during the UFC Fight Night 48 media event in Macau, China. "She's someone I've had my eye on for a while. She's a really exciting fighter. You don't see women that are world champion boxers knocking people out with headkicks very often."
Gina Carano is also another name on the list that may face Ronda Rousey in the near future, after Dana White revealed that "Conviction's" contract with the UFC is "getting close" to being made.
Ronda Rousey, however, admitted that Gina Carano would be the "worst style match-up" for her, but despite this possible setback, "Rowdy" has welcomed the challenge with open arms.
"I think styles do make fights, and style wise, Gina is the absolute worst match up for me," Rousey continued. "That's why I've been wanting to fight her for a while, because she could be one of my biggest challenges."
