A Lindsay Lohan Instagram post got "Mean Girls" fans all excited, as the hit film's lead star posted a photo with the movie's writer and co-star, Tina Fey.
Reported by Yahoo, the Lindsay Lohan Instagram post showed her in a close-up selfie with "Saturday Night Live" Tina Fey. The 28-year-old movie star captioned it: "Lovely running into an inspiring, funny, beautiful old friend!!!! #tinafey,"
However, the said Lindsay Lohan Instagram photo was deleted by the actress after fans started liking and commenting on it.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the photo was taken during a photo shoot for the magazine's upcoming reunions issue. The said reunions issue will be available on October - meaning the Lindsay Lohan Instagram shot with Tina Fey most likely pre-empted the news, leading the actress to delete the photo.
The Yahoo report added that news of a "Mean Girls" sequel started circulating after Lindsay Lohan appeared on The Tonight Show. During the interview, the actress who played lead character Cady Heron told Jimmy Fallon: "When I was backstage I saw Tina, and she mentioned maybe doing some sort of reunion ... She said she was talking to Lorne [Michaels] about it. She's talking to the big boss".
Also fueling rumors of a "Mean Girls" sequel was the Instagram photo of cast member Daniel Franzese. The photo showed him with other cast members Lizzy Caplan and Amy Poehler. Daniel Franzese captioned the photo: "Celebrating a bday and an Emmy nom last night for one of the greatest people you will ever meet #LizzyCaplan with our girl #AmyPoehler last night at the Chateau Marmont. #meangirls #northshore10yrreunion #damiansyearbook,"
Tina Fey clarified Lindsay Lohan's remarks and circulating rumors regarding a "Mean Girls" reunion: "At most, it would be like a panel discussion with a plate of hot wings," she told Access Hollywood. "It's definitely not a movie."
