"Ice Age 5" will still be featuring Manny and his posse of endangered animals and has been set for an official release by July 15 of 2016. Just like its previous animated movies, products of Blue Sky Studios and Fox Animation Studios, "Ice Age 5" has every intention to continue the success of the huge animated "Ice Age" franchise. The first four "Ice Age" movies before it were able to gross $2.8 billion at the global box office.
Moreover, just last year, "Ice Age: Continental Drift" was able to earn $874.9 million all over the world. It also included a massive $714 million, internationally speaking.
To date, however, Fox has opted to keep mum and have not yet divulged any further details about the upcoming "Ice Age 5." Still, it is expected that the main voice cast, such as Ray Romano, who does the booming voice of Manny the woolly mammoth, will still be returning to the cast.
The announced July 2016 official release date was actually originally scheduled for another Fox Animation-Blue Sky collaboration, "Anubis." However, "Anubis" has been pushed back two more years, specifically to March 23 of 2018. This particular movie focuses on a novel by Bruce Zick, which focuses on a mummy's curse that leads to an unintended trip to the underworld of Egypt.
Apart from the highly anticipated "Ice Age 5," the summer of 2016 also opens doors for other animated films, such as Pixar-Disney's "Finding Dory." This animation, as its name entails, is actually a sequel to the hit animated film "Finding Nemo." "Finding Dory" has been set to hit the big screen by June 17, which is basically the same day that DreamWorks Animation plans to open "How to Train Your Dragon 3." It looks like there is an epic animated film showdown to come.
