At this year's Emmy awards, Modern Family and Breaking Bad were the two big winners. But another one, a British import also won big at the awards night: BBC's Sherlock starring Star Trek's Benedict Cumberbatch, and The Hobbit's Martin Freeman. The show took home three awards, and when executive producer Steven Moffat was interviewed backstage at the Emmy's he obliged curious reported with some Sherlock season 4 spoilers. "We practically reduced our cast to tears," Moffat shared.

The upcoming season will begin filming in January 2015, still a long way off, but already buzz and anticipation about the show has been a mainstay on the Internet. And why not? Last season the show created so much hype with the Benedict Cumberbatch's character Sherlock Holmes back from the dead in the most ingenious way possible, and fans are expecting nothing less in upcoming season. Steven Moffat confirms the Sherlock season 4 spoilers that this season will be even more sensational than the last.

"We have a plan to top it -- and actually I do think our plan is devastating," the executive producer shared. "We practically reduced our cast to tears by telling them the plan. Honestly, Mark Gatiss and myself are so excited with what we've got coming up, probably more excited than we've ever been about Sherlock... Honestly, I think we can [top the last season]."

The British show about a modern Sherlock Holmes and his every exasperated, but ever loyal sidekick John Watson has been one of those shows that has successfully crossed over to American shores, much like ITV's Downton Abbey. And proof is the big win at the Emmy's 66th Awards night. "We've won outside of America, which is a place," Moffat joked. "We were just starting to think that that phase of our lives was dying down because as shows get older they don't win as often -- just like people. We're delighted that we've made it here and hopefully this gets more people watching. That'd be great.

As for Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch's absence at the awards night, Moffat said in jest, that the actor was "too big to come to the Emmys," and that they should "give him hell for that."
