For fans itching to snag New York Comic-Con 2014 tickets, the show-runners offers free tickets to a select few who arrive in costume at the pre-event.
The NY Comic-Con hosts "NYCC Presents... Heroes" at the RockBar, and will dish out free tickets to attendees who come in character and in costume.
The NYCC teases fans and cosplayers with a promotional spiel:
"Do you have what it takes to save the world from mayhem? Prove it when you attend the first installment of NYCC Presents...Heroes! Come dressed to conquer evil and take part in the Heroes Costume Contest for a chance to win tickets to NYCC. Not into the whole tights and cape get up? Bring your pencils and sketch pad and fearlessly draw alongside fellow NYCC Fans in a hero-themed drawing competition, with prizes provided by our special NYCC Comic Guests! You'll also have a chance to win tickets to NYCC 2014! There will be drink specials for the brave, freebees for the gutsy and an all-around good time for heroes and heroines alike!
So if you were unable to buy your New York Comic-Con 2014 tickets online or through a sanctioned retailer, get your cosplay on by dressing up in front of some of the comic industries' great talent. Fred Van Lente, Greg Pak and Cory Smith are set to appear at the RockBar NYC but expect more talent to arrive and judge your costumes in front of other geeks."
The New York Comic-Con 2014 tickets are offered free for participants dressed as heroes; the NYCC has a separate event for fans dressed as villain characters, to be announced (source: idigitaltimes.com).
The RockBar Comic Con is set on September 5, 7 to 9 PM. For those who'd rather purchase their own New York Comic-Con 2014 tickets, passes are available online and at legitimate retailers.
