Argentine challenger Marcos Maidana called out the Unbeaten champion Floyd Mayweather as an evasive coward in the ring. The rematch, Mayweather vs Maidana will be next month. Floyd won over his South American rival in May over majority decision. They will be in the same ting again on September 13 in Las Vegas for the World Boxing Council and World Boxing Association titles.
Maidana said, "It's difficult to knock out Floyd because he runs but I will try my best and we will see what happens. I want him to fight like a man. Stop crying like a little bitch and fight. "I'm going to be on him from the opening bell. I'm going to try and force him to fight." Maidana added he is ready even if Floyd will run like coward inside the ring.
Mayweather got 46 wins and 0 losses with 26 knockouts, while Maidana got 31 knockouts with 35 wins and 4 losses. Maidana said he just has to make few changes and land more punches on Floyd. He know he should win, he added, "During the first Mayweather vs Maidana fight, the pressure was very good, but I didn't do well the distance control. I smothered a lot of my punches. I didn't connect with good solid punches. If I work my distances, control my shots, I think I can hurt him."
The prior rematch of Mayweather was in 2001, when he won two unanimous decisions for the WBC Lightweight Crown against Jose Luis Castillo.
The challenger, Maidana has trained for two months, triple than what he did for the first fight due to his wife's pregnancy. Maidana is six years younger than Floyd, but he doesn't think it will be a big factor. As Floyd is in good shape and a good boxer, he just has to fight like a man.
Floyd, has been avoiding to fight against Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan in his winning run, instead, booked a rematch with Maidana after a tapered decision during the first fight.
Mayweather has tried to boost pay per view profits by fighting with Mexican champions or undercard fighters like Miguel Vazquez and Leo Santa Cruz.
