A new drama series on Showtime is said to be 'provocative,' according to Insidetv.ew.com. The show includes actors Dominic West as Noah. His character in this story is a New Yorker who begins to have an affair with local waitress named Allison, played by Ruth Wilson, while he was in a summer vacation in Long Island.

The ironic situation of the two people is, they're both married. Allison is married to a cowboy played by Joshua Jackson, while Noah is married to his college sweetheart played by Maura Tierney.

The story is written by Sarah Treem and Hagai Levi. These writers were also responsible for the HBO drama 'In Treatment'.

Going back to the trailer of the upcoming drama series, Inside TV said that it seems that both the protagonists in the story are being questioned by a detective about an accident.

TV.com described the trailer or the show as "series' most intriguing elements are the ones you don't see in that first look."

"The Affair" is expected to air on Oct. 19 at 10 p.m. on Showtime.

Meanwhile, another show to look forward is "Happyish". Deadline described it as "as a dark examination of our pursuit of happiness, a pursuit that might just be the very thing causing our unhappiness in the first place."
