There's a rare sighting of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and girlfriend Tasha McCauley engaging in a little PDA while strolling in Soho in Manhattan over the weekend. The "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" actor claimed that he relishes his privacy in order to stay true to the characters he plays in films.

The PerezHilton website described the Joseph Gordon-Levitt and girlfriend Tasha McCauley sighting as

"like seeing an albino dolphin while whale watching!"

However, over the weekend the 33-year-old actor "was walking all over Soho with her and showing some MAJOR PDA and we LOVE it," the site said.

The Joseph Gordon-Levitt and girlfriend Tasha McCauley dating reports were confirmed by the actor during an interview with Howard Stern in September last year, as he said that he's seeing the co-founder of Fellow Robots, an upstart company based in Silicon Valley.

During the same interview, the actor explained his need to protect his privacy, including who he is dating.

"I have a girlfriend but I tend not to really like to talk about it in public. I get up in movies and I play other people, so when the audience is watching me in movies, I don't want them thinking about me and who I'm dating, and blah blah blah," he claimed.

"The girl that I'm with, she really doesn't want to be a part of that," Joseph Gordon-Levitt added.

Yahoo News dished out a little bit about Joseph Gordon-Levitt's girlfriend Tasha McCauley.

"McCauley has an impressive résumé," it said. "On her Facebook page, the brianiac proudly displays her recently acquired MBA from the University of Southern California. Before that, she was a Robotics and Artificial Intelligence teaching fellow at Singularity University, which inspires leaders 'to apply exponential technologies to address humanity's grand challenges.'"
