Jessica Alba 'The Honest Company' Gained $70 Million As 'Sin City' Star Earns Nearly $1 Billion Valuation!

The Honest Co, is a start up company by Jessica Alba and husband Brian Lee. The firm is based in Santa Monica, California, which provides eco-friendly and natural baby products; it gained $70million with $1 billion net worth, based on the Wall Street Journal.

Funding comes from some VC investors like Iconiq Capital, General Catalyst Partners, Institutional Venture Partners and Wellington Management Company, together with other financial institutions. Prior to this, The Honest Co. had obtained $52 million in funding. There are 275 people work for the company.

The store is seeing to make $150 million in profit this year, triple of their profit in the previous year. Based on the report of Jeremy Liew, one of the investors of The Honest Co, there is almost 80% of the profit comes from consumers who have a monthly delivery of baby products and diapers.

Liew added that in November 2013, they were able to raise, $25 million from a consortium. Although the firm has no urgent plans to go public, that's something it could consider down the road, Liaw said.

The company donates some of its revenue and products to, B Corp for meriting certification from nonprofit group B Lab, also called benefit corporations. During the Jimmy Fallon interview of the actress, she said, "I wanted clean, safe, effective products that were affordable and beautifully designed, and I couldn't find that in the marketplace. There wasn't really a family brand that spoke to me as a young mom."


The Honest Co. is eyeing to use the cash to widen its present product line, like wipes and diapers into other products like cosmetics. They intent to expand globally next year, the first stop are China.

Lately, Jessica Alba stars in the movie Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, appeared in a gorgeous blue dress while arriving at the premiere at TCL Chinese Theater, Hollywood on August 19.
