Hollywood's most watched couple has finally made it official!
Brad Pitt married Angelina Jolie in a low-key ceremony in France last Saturday, the couple's spokesperson confirms.
After nine years and six kids together, the 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' couple are now Mr. and Mrs. Pitt. They were wed at a private chapel inside the Chateau Miraval estate in Correns, France, with all of their children, family and closest friends as witnesses.
The couple has been making renovations to the vineyard estate since settling there in 2008. The property includes 1,100 acres of working vineyard, a 35-room mansion, and an old chapel.
This happy news comes two years after Jolie showed off her huge sparkler that Pitt helped design just for her.
Last May, Jolie told People that she and then-fiance Pitt weren't the only ones planning for the wedding. There were six other very strong opinions in the house.
"We talk about it occasionally, and the kids talk about it with us," People previously reported the 39-year-old actress and newbie director as saying. "Which is verging on hysterical, how kids envision a wedding. They will in a way be the wedding planners."
Being kids, the Jolie-Pitt brood wanted the event to be fun-for them mostly.
"It's going to be Disney or paintball - one or the other," she added. "It will be fun. That's the important thing. When we do it, it will feel like a great day for our family."
Paintball and Disney aside, the nondenominational civil wedding did involve the kids.
According to CBS news, the 'Maleficent' star walked down aisle in the arms of her two eldest, Maddox (13) and Pax (11). Zahara (9) and Viviene (6) served as flower girls while Shiloh (8) and Knox (6) held onto their parents rings.
They might have played some paintball after the ceremony.
With Brad Pitt married to his beautiful wife at last, the pair will focus on their first movie together since 'Mr. And Mrs. Smith.' 'By The Sea' is set to hit cinemas soon.
Jolie has been married thrice in the past, first to John Lee Miller in 1996 then to Billy Bob Thornton in 2000. On the other hand, 50-year-old Brad Pitt married Jennifer Aniston in 2000 but eventually filed for divorce in 2005.
