The show-runners went so far as to ban the use of social media on the set, during production. Facebook and Instagram are prohibited. Even the cast is unaware of how the next season will develop, or how the series will end.
toofab.com managed an interview with two cast members who met their characters' demise in the previous season, also with the series' writer himself.
Rose Leslie was a wildling Ygritte in season 3; she comments they've gone to great lengths just to squeeze information out from the powers that be. Sibel Kekili (Shae) was also interviewed.
Anna Kachikyan of toofab tried to get "Game of Thrones" news from the cast, who were as clueless about the upcoming season's developments.
Leslie comments, "They've kept it very much between themselves. We've tried to get them drunk, we try to make sure they talk!"
Sibel says they're very careful about information leaks on the set. "As an actor, we had to be really careful when we were shooting. No photos from the set, no Facebook or Instagram or whatever. Nothing. And always be careful what you're gonna say!"
George R.R. Martin wrote "A Song of Fire and Ice," and producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss adapted it as an original HBO series.
Martin's hint of the series ending is as vague as it gets. "Its not just one ending, There are many endings, many characters, some are gonna live, some are gonna die. Some are gonna be happy, some are gonna be sad. It'll be a very bittersweet ending."
