New broke out when USC senior cornerback Josh Shaw admitted that he lied about his injury and he lied about saving his nephew from drowning. After that, USC management sanctioned Shaw to an indefinite suspension.

Now, Coach Steve Sarkisian said that Shaw may potentially return to the team but he has to get himself healthy first. He said "He's got to take care of his health and take care of himself. When the time is right -- and if the time is right -- to bring him back, we will."

Shaw admitted that he fabricated the story about him saving his nephew but did not say where he got his injury. Sarkisian said "He was unable to tell us. When he actually admitted to us that he was lying, he was in the presence of his attorney. That's a better question for his attorney. He didn't tell us and we weren't privy to ask quite honestly."

Etra told ESPNLosAngeles.com said last Wednesday that Shaw got his injury while falling off the balcony at the Orsini Apartments in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday night. He added "My understanding is that there is nothing criminal about this whatsoever. There is no criminal activity whatsoever"

Sarkisian said that he believed Shaw story of heroism and was disappointed when he found out the truth saying "We're obviously disappointed. We're held to a very high standard here at USC. I've known Josh Shaw for six years, when I first started to recruit him. Since I've gotten here, everyone spoke glowingly of him that has worked with him over the last few years here."

He added "Obviously we thought very highly of him. He spoke at our commencement this past spring. So when he came to us with the story, I didn't have a reason not to believe this guy. I believe that's where the level of disappointment kicks in."

"... The reality of it is it has been addressed. He's suspended indefinitely and there are some other things that have to take place. In the meantime, he's got to take care of his health and take care of himself. When the time is right -- and if the time is right -- to bring him back, we will."
