"The Brittany Murphy Story" release date is on Sept. 6.
Variety reported that Lifetime, the network where the biopic will be shown, has announced this. Amanda Fuller from the movie "Last Man Standing" will play the title role. Sherilyn Fenn of "Ray Donovan" is Sharon, the ever-supportive mom of the late actress, and Eric Petersen is Simon Monjack, Britt's husband.
Fans are happy with the announcement of "The Brittany Murphy Story" release date - but not his parents, particularly his dad Angelo Bertolotti. Perezhilton.com wrote that he plans to take legal action against the network. "Lifetime has not been authorized to produce the true story of Brittany Murphy. I intend to litigate Lifetime in a court of law." Mr. Bertolotti expressed no reason for this. A representative of her mother said she was not consulted about the movie-made-for-television either.
The two-hour life story focuses on her relationship with her mother - from the time she was a young, budding actress to the time she became a star. She's best remembered for her breakthrough role in the 1995 movie Clueless. Her last movie ("Something Wicked") was shown last April. She was also featured in films like "Girl Interrupted", "8 Mile", "Uptown Girl", and "Little Black Book".

The Brittany Murphy Story trailer somehow raises interest not only with the late actress's rise to fame but also with the reason of her death. Is there something strange with her death? She is said to die of pneumonia and anemia but why did his husband say 'You all killed her!' (as seen in the trailer)?
Inquisitr reported that the 32-year-old Hollywood star was found dead in her home, with "heart failure brought on by pneumonia" as the cause of death. His husband died five months after under the same circumstances.
