Pop superstar Britney Spears recently ended her long-time relationship with David Lucado, after the latter allegedly cheated on her.
Spears herself confirmed the shocking news via Twitter when she wrote, "Ahhhh the single life!"
A source close to the singer revealed, "She is heartbroken. She is in Vegas. But she will get through it. She's a strong girl and he was never right for her."
Although Spears has not yet confirmed the actual reason for their breakup, multiple sources previously revealed that it had to do with a video of Lucado that featured him making out with another woman, according to People Magazine.
Spears and Lucado started dating during the early part of 2013, just a few months after the singer ended her engagement to former agent Jason Trawick, E! News reported.
In November, Spears dished on her relationship with Lucado, during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
"I'm in love. I like the fact that he is very stubborn and he's stuck in his ways. He's just a simple man. I adore him. He's really funny and he's really passionate. I love the fact that anything he's involved in he's passionate about and it's contagious," she said at that time.
In a separate interview, Spears talked about wanting to have children with Lucado.
"I'd like to have more kids, settle down... have kids - maybe twins - and get married. That would be nice," she dished.
In another interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the mom of two said, "I just love that he's very passionate and he's funny and he's sexy and I don't know I like him. I just love him."
Meanwhile, a source told Mail Online that Lucado is hoping to work things out between him and Spears.
"David is very, very, very in love with Britney. This is unfortunate and he hopes that it all works out.
