The web is abuzz with reports about Joan Rivers being hospitalized following a throat surgery gone bad.
New reports claim that the "Fashion Police" host was in critical condition. The 81-year-old TV personality had some complications during a throat surgery at a New York City clinic.
Rivers allegedly stopped breathing at one point, and that prompted doctors to take her to Mount Sinai for further treatment.
E! News correspondent Ken Baker took to Twitter the good news that Rivers was finally in stable condition. However, later in the day, news of the host being placed in a medically induced coma circulated.
Friends and family of Rivers were beside the host to give their love and support.
In a statement released by Joan Rivers' daughter Melissa, she assured well-wishers that her mom was doing better.
The statement which was released to Us Weekly via Mount Sinai Hospital rep Sid Dinsay read, "I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother," "She is resting comfortably and is with our family. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers."
The night before Joan Rivers hospitalized reports broke, she was seen performing at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, and having dinner at the Amaranth Restaurant. As a source relayed to Us, "She seemed absolutely fine."
While another insider said, "She was cracking jokes all night. She was in really good spirits."
