[WATCH] The Human Water Catapult, For Adrenaline Junkies! New Watersport Gains A Cult Following, Has Promise Of Being A Sanctioned Event, With Judges And Scorecards To Boot

The human water catapult could be the next big thing in watersports.

Adrenaline junkies have a new sport to try out; the human water catapult. It's a combination of water trampoline and cliff-diving, if there ever was such a thing.

The invention is relatively new, although it's already gaining a cult following among spring breakers and beach bodies. As is everything worth trying out, the new thrill has the makings of becoming an actual water sport and event, with judges and best dives considered.

The air kick human water catapult uses an huge, rectangular, inflated float to propel a person up to fifty feet in the air, depending on the boost partners provide to the person propped at the other end. You just have to watch the video yourself to experience the thrill.

An adrenaline junkie jumps off the top of a boat (higher is way better), onto a huge inflated float. Another person sits at the other end waiting for the drop to propel him or her up into the air, to perform diving summersaults and stunts before landing into the water seconds later.

By the looks of it, it won't take long before the human water catapult becomes a recognized extreme sport, with athletes, judges, and score cards to boot.

A promotional video by devinsupertramps, made for adrenaline junkies, showcases the thrill of the sport. It surely is a tease, both for couch potatoes and for thrill-seekers.

The video also showcase surfers on water-propelled surfboards. Water runs through a long tube and out into a custom board, fastened to a person's feet. While the tethered board's range is limited, a surfboarder can easily stand on it or do dolphin dives with it, and the experience is similar to riding a hoverboard or jet pack.

The human water catapult can be an all-season sport, but is well-suited for the spring and summer breaks (source: fox13now.com).
