"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 2 spoilers reveal that Det. Jake Peralta will get help in a case from "The Office" alum Ed Helms who will appear on the seventh episode of the series. Meanwhile, Capt. Holt might be threatened by the presence of Kyra Sedgwick's character.

According to the "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 2 spoilers from UProxx, "The Hangover" star Ed Helms will play an employee of the United States Postal Inspection Service who will team up with Jake Peralta (Adam Samberg) to solve a case.

His role was billed to be a guest appearance, but showrunner Dan Goor said that the door is always open for a recurring character. "I know Ed from The Office and The Daily Show, so he'll be great and hopefully he'll have fun and be back," Goor said, per Uproxx.

Meanwhile, TVGuide dished out more "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 2 spoilers as it reported that Kyra Sedgwick ("The Closer") will guest star in two episodes as Deputy Chief Madeline Wuntch, who has a long history with Captain Holt (Andre Braugher).

Goor told TVGuide that the veteran actress brings gravitas to the role, which is "exactly the traits needed to stand off against Andre Braugher."

"And she pitched one of the funniest flashbacks that we've ever done!" he added.

Earlier "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" spoilers by TVGuide revealed the addition of Eva Longoria who will guest star as Sophia, a defense attorney who will charm Jake's (Adam Samberg) heart, which will create undue tension since he already revealed his feelings to Amy, played by Melissa Fumero during the finale of the pilot season.

They will join Terrell Owens, a former NFL wide receiver, who will play himself during an episode featuring a football game between the New York Police Department and the Fire Department of New York.

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 2 will premiere on September 28 at 8:30 p.m. on Fox.
