As she did with "Young and Beautiful" for The Great Gatsby, Lana Del Rey might be churning out another soundtrack hit for the upcoming unnamed James Bond film.
The "Ultraviolence" hitmaker is reportedly competing with British sensation Sam Smith for the opportunity to sing a Bond theme song.
Smith had reportedly been chosen to be the favorite for the job, and has been in talks with producer Barbara Broccoli, according to MTV UK. However, it looks like Lana Del Rey might still have a chance.
"Producers know it has to be a great song with a killer vocal to rival the phenomenal success of Adele's 'Skyfall,'" a source told The Sun.
The insider stated, "Sam seems like the favorite but Lana could definitely give him a run for his money."
Lana Del Rey's addictive music has been on the spotlight as much as the details of her love life since splitting from boyfriend Barrie-James O'Neill in June.
The "Dark Paradise" singer was rumored to be dating James Franco early August after the "Mice and Men" star posted a picture of himself with Lana Del Rey on his Instagram with the caption, "Oh snap, we got married."
Franco made sure to say "Just Kidding," but the photo still caused quite a bit of buzz. Del Rey reportedly attended a screening of Franco's new movie "Child of God" in New York City late July as well, according to E! News.
James Franco has reportedly been calling Lana Del Rey his "new friend," but there is still speculation that they might be something more, especially from the reported collection of Instagram photos of the two.
There's another photo of Del Rey wrapping her arms around Franco's neck during a stroll on the beach with the caption, "Down on the West Coast, they got a sayin. . . "
