"Friends" reunion news got fans of the hit TV series excited as cast members Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow reunite. According to a report from TIME, the mini-reunion pushed through with the help of comedian Jimmy Kimmel, although rumors insist that the female lead stars were not very happy with the script.

The talk show host first guested Jennifer Aniston during last Wednesday's episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!".

"Friends" reunion news reports that Jimmy Kimmel shared to the Hollywood star that he was such a fan of the show, where she plays Rachel. Jimmy Kimmel then revealed a replica of the "Friends" set and shared fan-fiction script that he allegedly wrote himself.

The talk show host then coerced Jennifer Aniston into a mock impromptu "Friends" re-enactment, even offering her a "Rachel" wig, which the actress refused to wear.

Courtney Cox and Lisa Kudrow, who play Monica and Phoeba respectively in the hit comedy series, joined Jennifer Aniston in the impromptu "Friends" reunion, said news reported by TIME.

The three female stars jokingly mocked Jimmy Kimmel's script, which apparently had all the male cast members killed off after being bit by a rabid pet monkey named "Marcel".

Jimmy Kimmel responded to the female cast members' feedback about his fan-written script, which they called "dumb".

"Is it dumber than living in a huge apartment in New York City for eight years, even though you work at a coffee shop?" he joked.

In a report from Us Magazine, the talk show host also addressed "Friends" reunion news that the female stars, particularly Jennifer Aniston, were not very happy with the skit.

"We were acting," Jimmy Kimmel clarified the following day. "It was acting. Everybody knew it was gonna happen, we rehearsed it backstage, it was scripted out. The idea was that I would force Jennifer into this mini Friends reunion, and she pretended to be annoyed by it."

Jimmy Kimmel clarified the "Friends" reunion news: "For some reason, maybe half, if not more, of the people commenting online seemed to think that was real. I'm not kidding. There are thousands of comments."

In the following episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", the 46-year-old comedian read comments posted in social media sites about how the female cast members, specifically Jennifer Aniston, appeared "rude" and was "visibly upset".

"Well, she was acting -- apparently very well, too!" Jimmy Kimmel said, adding: "She should probably get an Emmy for that acting!"
