Benedict Cumberbatch's girlfriend rumors resurfaced anew after the star of "Sherlock" was snapped while appearing to be on a date with a mystery girl. Meanwhile, his performance as Alan Turing in the WWII film "The Imitation Game" was praised by critics.

London's Daily Mirror fueled the Benedict Cumberbatch's girlfriend reports when it published a grainy photo of the actor in London while hanging out with a "mystery brunette."

According to the publication, the pair watched a play at the National Theatre as well as "checking out a screening of Back To The Future at London's latest fad Secret Cinema." The report also alleged that Benedict Cumberbatch and his "new squeeze" were even seen dancing at the Olympic Park.

The tabloids have been feasting on who could be Benedict Cumberbatch's girlfried after PBS head Rebecca Eaton revealed to the New York Post in June that the "Sherlock" star is already taken.

"She wouldn't say whom the 'Sherlock' actor has met, but she said it's time for all those 'Cumberb-hes' - the name used by his huge base of female followers - to move on," the Post reported.

Meanwhile, the Daily Times named four women who could be Benedict Cumberbatch's girlfriend: first on the list is Dakota Johnson ("Fifty Shades of Grey"), Russian model Katia Elizarova, "Sherlock" co-star Yasmine Akram, and Olivia Poulet, his former girlfriend of 12 years.

Meanwhile, IndieWire praised Benedict Cumberbatch's turn as Alan Turing in the WWII drama "The Imitation Game."

Michael Nordine said that Benedict Cumberbatch carried the film as he handled what the role of Alan Turing required with aplomb, as the actor slides "effortlessly into a role that practically demands to be overacted."

"It's a reserved, almost conservative performance, and in holding so much back so much of the time, Cumberbatch makes his few outward displays of emotion far more impactful," he wrote.
