To date, James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy is the no. 1 film of 2014 at the North American box office, next is Marvel's superhero movie, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Disney and Marvel, gathered almost $3.8 million over the weekend, boosting its local earnings to $262.1 million, while Winter Soldier made $259.8 million. Worldwide, it made north of $500 million.
The Guardians is in the fifth spot during the Labor Day holiday, because of its record-breaking performance during this year's summer box office, though profit is still in its whopping 15% drop from 2013.

As Above, So Below, from Legendary Entertainment gained $3.2 million Friday, making No. 3 TMNT and Guardians. The Expendables 3 at 10th,and Sin City: A Dame to Kill at 13th.
The film If I Stay, costs $5 million to make, the film is about a group of explorers that dive into catacombs and discover dark forces under the streets of Paris. Universal Studio is releasing the movie, with younger consumers as the target audience.
The November Man, directed by Roger Donaldson, is expected to gross $9.8 million for the four to six days debut to around $11.5 million range. It keeps its place at No. 5. The movie is starred by Pierce Brosnan, the role is like James Bond.
The more than $20 million film, which chases an ex-CIA agent, who finds himself against his former student and brought back for a mission, the film is produced by Merced Media Partners, The Solution Entertainment Group and Palmstar Media Capital. Luke Bracey and Olga Kurylenko are with Brosnan in November Man, which gained $3 million in the box office. The film was given, B+ Cinema Score by the audiences.
