Good news for all Roald Dahl fans in the US. News just came out today that the TV adaption for the Roald Dahl book Esio Trot has just been picked up by The Weinstein Co. for the United States. The TV adaptation was originally for BBC One, produced by Endor Productions.

The Roald Dahl book Esio Trot is about a retired bachelor named Mr. Hoppy, who is in love with his neighbor Mrs. Silver. But Mrs. Silver has no eyes for anybody else other than her pet tortoise named Alfie, and lovestruck Mr. Hoppy must find a way to attract the attention of his neighbor.

This is the latest Roald Dahl book to be adapted either into the big or small screen. Previously we've seen other Roald Dahl books such as Charlie And The Chocolate Factory starring Johnny Depp, and the stop-animation adaptation of Fantastic Mr. Fox, directed by Wes Anderson and voiced by George Clooney and Meryl Streep, plus James And the Giant Peach, The Witches, Matilda, and Danny The Champion of the World.

This time around, we have Richard Curtis, who is famous for his work on About Time and Love Actually to adapt the story into a TV movie, plus A-list actors Dustin Hoffman (Meet The Fockers)and Dame Judi Dench (Skyfall) starring as Mr. Hoppy and Mrs. Silver respectively.

The Weinstein company has lately been beefing up its TV operations and this is one way that they are doing to amp up their programming. "Roald Dahl is one of the most revered children's authors in history, so needless to say we're delighted to be on board with this project. Dustin Hoffman and Judi Dench will do a phenomenal job embodying his beloved, one-of-a-kind characters," says Harvey Weinstein.

Earlier this year, Dustin Hoffman was spotted filming for the TV version of Roald Dahl's book Esio Trot in London. The Oscar award winner was shooting a scene that require for him to carry several boxes all of different shapes and sizes. It looks to be a fun new TV show, with such talented people on board. We can't wait to see Roald Dahl's book Esio Trot as it lights up the small screen!
