The recent celebrity hacking incident has disgusted the world, as nude pictures of female celebrities are being wrongfully exposed.

The celebrity hackings have taken an even more shocking turn as it has been revealed that Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney was under 18 when the hacked nude photos of her were taken, according to TMZ.

McKayla Maroney is reportedly taking legal action against several porn sites that reposted the images.

One of Maroney's attorneys reportedly wrote a letter to Porn.com informing the site that the now 18-year-old was underage in several of the photos, according to the entertainment website.

A rep for Porn.com told TMZ that the photos were immediately removed once they received the letter from Maroney's attorney.

The nude photos of the gymnast were also posted on Reddit, but the website sent out a message to its users today stating, "Effective immediately: any images/galleries/torrents/megadumps/etc containing McKayla Maroney or Liz Lee will be immediately due to the fact that they were underage (<18) in the photos taken."

Lee was "not a part of the leaks, but people have been posting images anyways," according to the site.

Maroney had initially stated that the nude pictures that were allegedly hacked from her account were not her at all, according to Fox News.

"the fake photos of me are crazy!! Was trying to rise above it all, and not give 'the creator' the time of day. You sir, need Jesus," Maroney had tweeted.

She thanked fans, writing, "shout out to my fans for defending me all day long. . . . even when things got weird u stood by me. And that meant the world."

Although the recent legal action that's been taken reportedly implies that the exposed photos do show McKayla, it is possible only portions of the images show the gymnast, according to TMZ.

The FBI and Apple are reportedly beginning inquiries into allegations that the online accounts of actress Jennifer Lawrence and model Kate Upton were hacked after naked photos of the two were posted online.

The FBI said in a statement that it is "aware" of the hacking allegations and is "addressing the matter."
