Pokemon X and Y have never been released in China, in the midst of their growing popularity in several countries around the world, according to a report in The Business Insider.
Many Pokemon X and Y fans may be surprised to hear this. This is because Pokemon is the top second Nintendo franchise, just ranking next on the top spot with Mario, according to a report in The Business Insider.
What shocked the Pokemon X and Y fans is that Nintendo focuses keenly on the game's market in China.
South China Morning Post reported via The Business Insider that DS and 3DS China customized handheld consoles have been released in the country. These consoles were released under Pokemon's signature name "i-Que," as reported in The Business Insider.
Despite such release, the Pokemon company based in Japan has not produced Pokemon X and Y games in Chinese.
Things may change real soon, though. In a report in SCMP via a report in The Business Insider, it was indicated that almost 10,000 people have petitioned for the popular game to have a Chinese language version.
According to The Business Insider, the petition produced a statement saying:
"We understand the fact that there were difficulties in localizing the Pokémon video games into Chinese over the years".
"However, as time goes by, most obstacles melt away and it is the ideal opportunity for developing the full potential of the Greater China region."
