Ben Platt, who will reprise his role as adorable magic enthusiast Benji Applebaum in 'Pitch Perfect 2,' recently shared his thoughts on the sequel being put under a lot of pressure from fans and critics.
"There's a little bit more pressure because everyone knows what 'Pitch Perfect' is," the highly accomplished 20-year-old told The Hollywood Reporter about the new instalment.
With the film being a sequel, Platt admitted that he felt pressured to meet viewers' expectations.
He explained, "It's as if we're revisiting out first experience, but it's been blown up and it's kind of under a microscope in a certain way."
A perk he enjoyed from appearing in the first 'Pitch Perfect' film, however, was the recognition he got from people, especially in reference to Benji's affinity for Star Wars and magic tricks.
"Everyone's always like, can you really do magic? And I'm like, well if you would like to supply me with all of those things again I could do those tricks for you," he said.
When asked if his fans would be able to see him singing B.O.B.'s 'Magic' in 'Pitch Perfect 2,' the talented young actor played it coy.
"The song might make its way in there," he teased.
The recognition that came with 'Pitch Perfect' also helped the actor-singer to make his own name in Broadway and even cabaret.
Fans will get to see Platt on stage as Elder Cunningham in the Broadway play, 'Book Of Mormons' once again. He has also written and played a one-man cabaret show entitled, 'I'm Here.'
He shared that co-stars Skylar Astin and Anna Camp recently saw him on stage for 'Book Of Mormons.'
Platt and Skylar Astin previously teased fans 'Pitch Perfect 2' fans with a Fourth of July rendition of 'America The Beautiful.' The video was uploaded on director Elizabeth Banks' Youtube along with a greeting for the holiday.
"We just threw together an arrangement of 'America the Beautiful' and played around with some harmonies and sang together," he told The Hollywood Reporter.
Fans can see more of them playing around with songs when 'Pitch Perfect 2' hits cinemas on May 15, 2015.
