The next Peter Pan is Allison Williams, and she's performing live on NBC's upcoming TV musical.

The Peter Pan is Allison Williams in green tights; The "Girls" star will play the role Robin Williams was known for back in the 90's ("Hook"), and the actor can't get enough of the excitement.

The first reveal of Allison as Peter Pan came with an Instagram post. Allison comments: "The transformation begins! My first shoot as Pan. Fun fact: I was all ready to cut my hair, then was told by the folks who actually know what they're doing that a wig works better for everybody. So, December 4th, here we come. #wiglife #peterpanlive #nbc"

Allison was all about the part, and was even willing to cut her hair to be true to the character. The show's producers considered her a catch:

"Allison Williams is a major find. She will reinvent the iconic role of Peter Pan with her wit, her warmth, her dynamic flying and her wonderful musical abilities. The score will be sung beautifully and introduced to a whole new generation of families."

The NBC musical will cast Peter Pan in Allison Williams, opposite Christopher Walken as Hook.

The live version from NBC is based on an original Broadway hit, also from a book by J.M. Barrie. "Peter Pan Live!" is produced by Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, of "Smash" and "The Sound of Music."

Allison gushed at the chance to be Peter Pan. "I have wanted to play Peter Pan since I was about 3 years old, so this is a dream come true," Williams said in a statement when her casting was announced in August. "It's such an honor to be a part of this adventure, and I'm very excited to get to work with this extraordinarily talented team. And besides, what could go wrong in a live televised production with simultaneous flying, sword fighting and singing?"

TV viewers will see Peter Pan in Allison Williams when "Peter Pan Live!" airs December 4 (source: eonline.com).
