Samsung Galaxy Note 4's specs have been confirmed at a pre-IFA event, with Samsung Galaxy Note Edge also unveiled.
Details on Samsung Galaxy Note 4's specs are now official, unveiled at a September 3 pre-IFA event. Samsung follows through with the Galaxy Note 3's success with sharper display and a premium metal frame.
The Galaxy Note 4 retains the same screen size of the Galaxy Note 3, previously the standard for big-screened smartphones in the U.S. The Note 3 was a confirmed success, with ten million units sold in a matter of two months.
Notable in the Note 4 is its crisper display, showcasing Quad HD 2560 x 1440 resolution, cramming more pixels per square inch in the same screen size. Worthy comparisons include the iPhone 5s with its 4-inch display, and the Galaxy S5, at 5.1 inches.
Also worth noting is Samsung's venture into metal frames. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 comes with a metal rim for a premium finish, in comparison to previous releases on plastic. The device retains the faux leather back panel from the Note 3.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4's specs are confirmed and quite detailed. It'll either have a 2.7 GHz Quad-Core Processor or 1.9 GHz Octa-Core (1.9GHz Quad + 1.3GHz Quad-Core) Processor upon release (depending on region), 32 Gigabyte storage (expandable to 64 GB), with dimensions 153.5 x 78.6 x 8.5mm.
The Note 4 feels weighted at 176g primarily because of the metal build. It'll have Android KitKat 4.4 installed, with 2.5G, 3G, or 4G LTE Network capability (androidcentral.com).
The Galaxy Note 4's rear camera is decent enough at 16 megapixels, with a 3.7 megapixel front end, understandable in tablet devices.
The unveil also comes with a limited edition Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4's specs save for the curved edge on the right side of the display. Samsung's Unpacked event previews the tech giant's newest releases ahead of the IFA on September 4 (smh.com.au).
