With 'The Originals' season 2 nearing its October 6th premiere date, The CW treated eager fans to a 30-second teaser as well as the official synopsis for this season.
Some of the trailer's highlights include Elijah facing off with his father, Mikael. Klaus also laments his helplessness as the moonlight rings that were forged using his blood continue to weaken him.
Hayley, on the other hand, dwells on the anger she feels for losing her baby as she tries to adjust to her new hybrid life.
The most interesting part of the teaser, however, comes towards the end. Although Marcel had been banned from entering the Quarter again, the new threat from Francesca's pack has Klaus going back to his old friend for help (with a little nudge from Cami).
The question, however, is will the original vampires' alliance with Marcel be any match against the werewolves (delving in magic) and Esther and Mikael?
For now, fans will just have to wait for October to see how the whole alliance will play out.
As if the new 'The Originals' season 2 trailer wasn't enough to stir fans' excitement, CW has also released the season's synopsis, via TVLine.
"Season two finds our heroes adjusting to a new status quo, with the newly empowered werewolves controlling the city and a myriad of unknown threats lurking," the synopsis reads.
Klaus and Hayley will be having quite a hard time purging the Quarter of anything and everything that could harm baby Hope, including perhaps, themselves.
"Though Klaus and Hayley have vowed to scorch the earth in order to make New Orleans a safe home for their daughter, Hope, they also have inner demons to battle. As she adjusts to life as a hybrid, Hayley experiences crippling rage and depression after saying goodbye to her daughter, and Klaus - who needs his strength now more than ever - finds himself regularly weakened as the werewolves use the moonlight rings forged in his blood."
Meanwhile, Elijah will be setting out to take revenge on Francesca and her pack and will be "connecting with Marcel and his renewed vampire community in the process."
Even more dangerous than the werewolves, however, is their parents who have come back from the dead.
Mikael is dead set on killing Klaus while Esther "is fueled by a consuming and twisted love for her children as she devises a disturbing plan to reunite her fractured family - a plan that involves untold torment not only for the Original siblings, but for any and all of their loved ones."
Find out how the Mikaelson siblings will fare in 'The Originals' season 2 premiering on October 6 on the CW.
