Dwayne Johnson's DC Comic role in the upcoming "Shazam" film adaptation is confirmed.

Dwayne Johnson's DC Comic role in upcoming movie "Shazam" has been up in the air for some time now. In recent news, The Rock confirms his part in the movie, and considering his roles in previous movies, this one is sure to be a good fit.

Johnson was previously rumored to play the Captain Marvel character in "Shazam," a hero role he's played many times before. He's recently the demigod Hercules in a movie adaptation, and the fan's reaction to him playing the DC character was positive.

Johnson has voiced out his preference for anti-hero roles, though, which reminds of Keanu Reeves role as Constantine in the film adaptation of the Hellblazer comic series. The role for Shazam's nemesis Black Adam is yet to be casted, and The Rock was vocal about eyeing the part.

Dwayne Johnson's wish was just granted, in a tweet he posted in character. '"Kneel at his feet or get crushed by his boot.' My honor to become.. #BlackAdam #TheAntiHero #DCComics."

It's confirmed Black Adam will be Dwayne Johnson's DC Comic role in the movie. "I am putting my heart and soul and my bones into this role."

The news is expected, since Johnson previously told the Associated Press his favorite DC Comics character is Black Adam, who wields magic on top of Shazam's flight, super-strength, speed, invulnerability. Both are also rumored to make an appearance when the Justice League assembles on theaters.

President and COO of New Line Cinema Toby Emmerich says Johnson is perfect for the role.

"We Love Dwayne and have had nothing but success with him over the years. When I look at Dwayne both off screen and on screen, he is such a larger than life character and it just made perfect sense to me that we put him in a DC comic movie. You look at these comic book characters and they have this certain swag and charisma that Dwayne carries with him where ever he is so that's why this always made sense." (source: dailymail.co.uk)
