Coming from fantastic performances in August: Osage County, and HBO's The Normal Heart, America's original sweetheart (before Jennifer Lawrence stole the title) Julia Roberts is set to star in an upcoming movie called The Secret In Their Eyes.

The actress is reportedly in deep talks to star in this hit Argentinian movie, which is to be directed by Billy Ray (The Hunger Games and Captain Philips). Not only is Ray directing this movie, he also adapted the screenplay for American audiences. And to show just how bent he was in securing that this will be the next Julia Roberts movie, the writer director even re-wrote the male part into a female role so that he could have Julia Roberts on board.

If the deal pushes through, the actress will be joining A-list actors such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave) for this American remake. IM Global, which is set to finance this movie, is now selling the project in Toronto, and the shooting date is slated for October.

The Secret In Their Eyes is an Argentinian movie that garnered some Hollywood buzz when it bagged the Best Foreign Language film award at the 2010 Academy Awards. The original movie was written and directed by Juan Jose Campanella.

If it pushes through, this will be another Julia Roberts movie that has a potential Oscar award buzz. The actress, who has enjoyed but critical and commercial success has been giving superb performances lately. She was nominated for best supporting actress at the Oscars for her performance in August: Osage County, and on television, she appeared in HBO's The Normal Heart, which earned her a best supporting actress nomination from the Emmy Awards.
