The highly successful X-Men: Days of Future Past is of course spurning a much-awaited sequel. After the movie's critical and box office success, which is helped big time by its star studded cast which included Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, and Michael Fassbender, news of the sequel, X-Men Apocalypse movie has just started to leak leak.
According to CinemaBlend, Fox is looking at May 27, 2016 at the X-Men: Apocalypse movie release date. This is following the very successful similar Memorial Day premiere of its predecessor, X-Men: Days of Future Past. We will also be seeing the return of director Bryan Singer, who helmed the 2000 X-Men Movie, and who came back for X-Men: Days Of Future Past. It has been confirmed by the scriptwriter Simon Kinberg, that the upcoming movie will still have Bryan Singer in the director's chair.
But with the legal troubles that the director is facing, this could all change. Just this week, another sexual abuse charge was leveled against the director. A man has accused Singer of sexual abuse that happened in March last year in New York. The NYPD is now investigating the charge. This comes after the initial sexual abuse charge by Michael Egan, was withdrawn.
Earlier this year in June, the director was busy working on the X-Men Apocalypse movie and even released a first photo from the film through his Instagram account, which shows the first half of what appears to be a script.
From what we can gather, the new X-Men Apocalypse movie will be set in Egypt after a long, and bloody war.
And in further news, it has been confirmed that this newest mutant movie will be shooting in Montreal, Canada. Production on the film project will happen as early as next month, with set construction to begin in December. The actual filming of the X-Men Apocalypse movie will commence in April next year. This was confirmed by the news outlet Journal de Montreal.
The movie will reportedly focus on X-Men: First Class characters, so expect the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, and James McAvoy to descend upon Montreal April next year.
