The "Family Guy and "The Simpsons" crossover made the cover of the new Entertainment Weekly magazine issue, as fans of both animated series are sure to be delighted by the one-time only treat.
According to Comic Book, the "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons" crossover will be featured in three different covers of the magazine: one in which Peter and Homer are seen eating donuts; another shows Stewie and Bart wearing the same clothes and naughty as ever; and third where Meg is playing Lisa's saxophone while Springfield's resident braniac looks on.
"Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane said as published in the website: "It's really about the character interaction. People want to see Peter interact with Homer. They want to see Bart interact with Stewie."
He said the "Family Guy and "The Simpsons" crossover episode, "while it has to be there, is never quite as important as how the characters interact with each other."
"The Simpsons" creator Matt Groening, meanwhile, talked to Entertainment Weekly about his thoughts when the "Family Guy" became a success.
"My first take was: Oh my god, we got competition. And they're outflanking us. This show is wilder and harsher and nastier. We used to get in trouble. We used to be the cause of the downfall of the United States," he said.
According to TVGuide, the "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons" crossover will air on September 28 on Fox when the Griffins find themselves in Springfield.
"Brats Bart and Stewie team up for trouble, Lisa teaches Meg how to play the sax, and Homer and Peter shoot the bull over brewskis," the website said.
Al Jean, the showrunner of the long-running animated show told TVGuide: "We let [the Family Guy team] do their thing with the script. Both shows are all about satire. We weren't about to say, 'You can't make fun of us!'"
