"How to Get Away With Murder" TV series reviews agree on one thing: Shonda Rhimes did it again and this show could become a sleeper hit, with one entertainment writer claiming that it's better than Kerry Washington's "Scandal."
In E! News' "How to Get Away with Murder" TV series review, Kristin Dos Santos said that the show is so good that fans would start to question why they love "Scandal" in the first place.
"Scandal" is another of Shonda Rhimes creations along with another hit "Grey's Anatomy."
The reviewer predicted that they are going to write a lot about the show because it's easy to be obsessed to.
Tierney Bricker, meanwhile, wrote on her "How to Get Away with Murder" TV series review that the show is a signature of the executive producer, "sexy, slick and seriously Shonda."
"While 'Scandal' took about three episodes to find its groove, HTGAWM throws caution to the wind, going from zero to 60 from the very start of the pilot," she wrote. "Plus, it's worth tuning in just to hear Viola Davis seductively say the word "murder" like the cat that just ate the canary."
Viola Davis earlier explained her reason for taking on the character during the 2014 Television Critics Association summer press tour.
"I wanted to be the show. I wanted to have a character that kind of took me out of my comfort zone. And that character happened to be in a Shonda Rhimes show in 'How to Get Away With Murder,'" she said, per BuzzFeed . "And so I did the only smart thing that any sensible actress would do, and I took it. I dove at it."
As Sydney Bucksbaum described the show in her "How To Get Away with Murder" TV series review: "If you like Shonda Rhimes' previous ABC hits, 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Scandal,' then you'll love this. It's the most Shonda Rhimes-iest show that has ever Shonda Rhimes-ed."
