Since his cult hit zombie movie Shaun of the Dead, Simon Pegg has been able to bank on his comedian/fan boy/geek persona to great extent. To date, Simon Pegg's movies has had the actor working with some of the biggest names in the film industry, plenty of them, actors or directors that he he himself is a big fan of. He has even starred in some of the most iconic franchises in the history of cinema -- including, Star Trek and Mission Impossible. Recently, he's been rumored to be playing a secret role in the upcoming J.J. Abrams-directed Star Wars reboot.
Now the latest among Simon Pegg's movies has him playing a killer! Recently, The British actor was cast to play an assassin the upcoming film Kill Me Three Times by director Kriv Stenders.
"I'm a big fan of casting against type," the Australian director shared in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
In the new movie called Kill Me Three Times, Simon Pegg plays an assassin residing in a beach town in Australia. In the official website of the Toronto International Film Festival, the official synposis "A small Australian town becomes a hotbed of scheming, scamming, blackmail murder this blackly comic, sun-scorched neo-noir, featuring a sterling cast that includes Simon Pegg, Alice Braga and Luke Hemsworth."
'Still, in keeping with Simon Pegg's comedic persona, and wit the trend in most of the Simon Pegg movies, Kill Me Three Times still has its undercurrents of dark humor. In the same interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the director shared what the movie is all about. "It's a darkly comic thriller, full of twists, double twists and triple twists. A delicious concoction," Stenders said. "It's a cross between Blood Simple and Rashomon. It plays with time frames in a really clever way, keeping the audience guessing."
This latest Simon Pegg movie also co-stars Sullivan Stapleton, Alice Braga,Teresa Palmer, Luke Hemsworth and Bryan Brown.
