Lindsay Lohan is in the news after an alleged former partner issued claims that she and her brother Michael Jr. stole their "virtual closet" app idea. According to the report from TMZ, the "Speed The Plow" star is facing a possible lawsuit pending negotiations with the app's original web developer.

According to the Lindsay Lohan news item, the actress and her brother allegedly made a deal with a web developer named Fima Potik.

The said tech entrepreneur reportedly had a startup project called "Spotted Friend". With the app, users can supposedly get a glimpse of what's inside celebrities' closets.

Users have the option of buying the celebrities' clothes, and a portion of the sales gets shared between the former star owners and app developers.

TMZ recalled that the former "Mean Girls" lead character even tweeted about "Spotted Friend" in July 2013.

However, the team behind the virtual closet app reportedly parted ways. The Lohan siblings then decided to develop an app similar to "Spotted Friend".

The celebrity family's plan to launch a similar app reached their former partners. The developers have reportedly issued a cease and desist order and threatens to file a formal lawsuit to prevent Lindsay Lohan and her team from releasing the said app.

The lawyer of Lindsay Lohan responded to lawsuit news: "Allegations of any impropriety in Lindsay Lohan's business relationship concerning this Web site are inaccurate and clearly designed to capitalize on her worldwide recognition as a fashion icon."

Prior to the "Spotted Friend" controversy, recent Lindsay Lohan news announced how the actress has decided to end her controversial party lifestyle. The notorious wild child revealed to Daily Mail that her focus is currently on her theater debut, entitled "Speed The Plow".

The former child star is reportedly prioritizing her much-awaited role in the David Mamet West End production, which will run in London's Playhouse Theater starting September 24.
