Fans of the mystery thriller novel will not have to wait too long to finally see if the movie version of their favorite book lives up to the book's brilliance.

Starring Ben Affleck and directed by David Fincher (Fight Club, The Social Network), the movie is based on the bestselling novel by Gillian Flynn. The story follows Ben Affleck's character, Nick Dunne, whose wife, Amy (played by Rosamund Pike), mysteriously disappeared on the day of their fifth wedding anniversary.

The beautiful Gone Girl actress Rosamund Pike recently sat down with Glamour magazine for an interview for its October 2014 cover issue. She opened up about making the much awaited movie and having a career and family life balance in an industry like Hollywood.

For Gone Girl, Rosamund Pike had to the usual bit of promotional rounds for the movie, which included posing for magazine interviews and covers. But this time around, the 35 year old actress had to do it while being pregnant! "A lot of girls who are high-profile in Hollywood-they've been doing cover stories for big magazines since they were in their early twenties. And I haven't," Pike shared. "I feel quite nervous about it! And having to do cover shoots while pregnant. You're like, 'Well, I'm pregnant. So, you know, I haven't really got a waist anymore.' I don't enjoy the pregnancy bit of having big boobs, really."

She also opened up about the intimate scenes she had to do for the movie. For Gone Girl, Rosamund Pike had to bed scenes with Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) "Neil was incredible at that. We were in hysterics in the editing room. It was very funny doing [rehearsals for our sex] scene,"

It's tough having a family and having to work at the same time for any woman. And it's the same being in a high profile industry like filmmaking. But for Rosamund, having children gives her a good career boost, especially in her profession as an actor. "With children you spend so much time reexperiencing the world as a child experiences it, and that has a nourishing effect on your imagination-in my job, imagination is key," she shares.
