Apple has just unveiled two of their newest mobile phone offerings, but how does the iPhone 6 specs vs. iPhone 6 Plus vs. Samsung Galaxy S5 specs affect a tech junkie's decision?
Here is a quick guide on what to expect with Apple's latest flagship products and 2014's top Android phone:
Design
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus both come in a curved aluminium, measuring 6.8mm thick and 7.1mm thick respectively.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 on the other hand comes in a dimpled plastic case measuring 8.1mm thick.
In terms of design and sophistication, Apple really has it in the bag. Compared to the rather cheap-looking feel of the S5's plastic back and sides, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus boasts of skinny, curved, and full aluminium design.
Screen
The iPhone 6 has a 4.7 inch screen with a 1334x750 LCD and a 326ppi pixel density, while the iPhone 6 Plus boasts of a 5.5 inch screen, 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 on the other hand, has a 5.1 inch screen with a 1080 Super AMOLED screen and a 432ppi pixel density
Nothing much has changed with the new iPhones as it still carries the same IPS display like their predecessors.
As Trusted Reviews noted, "This offers great viewing angles, natural looking colours and great sharpness relative to the resolution. On the other side of the ring, the Samsung Galaxy S5 uses a Super AMOLED screen."
"In the past we've found these to be quite problematic, but the S5 has an excellent AMOLED panel. Choose the right screen mode and colours look excellent, while black level and contrast are far better than what's on offer in the iPhone 6. An LCD just can't compete with OLED on this front."
"In short - both have great screens, but for movies the Galaxy S5 clinches it."
Camera
According to Forbes, "Both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus sport an f/2.2 aperture which Apple says will take in 81% more light and an upgraded 'True Tone' flash for more realistic flash lighting."
"Where the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus differ, however, is their image stabilisation. Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) has become a mainstay of most premium smartphones - it moves the lens around to minimise camera shake that causes blurred shots - and it comes to the iPhone 6 Plus."
The iPhone 6 boasts of an 8MP back camera.
On the other side of the coin is Samsung Galaxy S5's 16MP rear facing camera. Trusted Reviews said, "The S5 has a great Samsung ISOCELL 16-megapixel sensor while the iPhone 6 uses an 8-megapixel sensor that's similar to the sensor of the iPhone 5S. We also love Samsung's latest HDR mode, which brings fantastic results 95 per cent of the time."
CPU and RAM
iPhone 6 specs vs. iPhone 6 Plus vs. Samsung Galaxy S5 specs reveal some noteworthy CPU and RAM features of the three mobile devices.
The new iPhones are said to have the same performance features running on Apple A8 and has 1GB RAM.
Galaxy S5 on the other hand, runs on 32-bit Snapdragon 801.
The iPhones have a dual-core 1.4GHz chip, while the S5 has a quad-core 2.5GHz.
