"23 Jump Street" rumors reveal that the screenplay for the flm is already underway as cast Channing Tatum faced his fears at Ellen DeGeneres show.
Deadline confirmed the "23 Jump Street rumors as it reported that Rodney Rothman, who also co-wrote "22 Jump Street," has been tapped to pen the third installment of the franchise.
It's not clear, however, whether Christopher Miller or Phil Lord would direct the film once again.
"I can report that they are overseeing the script with Rothman as producers on the third film with Neal Moritz, Hill and Tatum. The directing job is theirs if they want it, but insiders said they haven't committed to direct at this point," Mike Fleming Jr. wrote for Deadline.
According to Box Office Mojo, the "22 Jump Street" grossed $319,622,916 wordwide with domestic sales at $190,822,916. It was very successful considering that the budget was only $50 million, so Fleming said that a third film is inevitable.
The plot for "22 Jump Street," as written by Sony Pictures, reads: "After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership."
There's no plot yet for the third film, even with all the "23 Jump Street" rumors flying in the tabloids.
Meanwhile, "23 Jump Street" cast Channing Tatum faced his fear-porcelain dolls, out of all things-when he was a guest of the "Ellen DeGeneres" show.
He blamed the porcelain doll that was possessed in the "Friday the 13th" TV series which he saw when he was a child, according to Today.
"I just think they're freaky! They have, like, real eyes! I just imagine when I walk by them, their heads turn with you the whole time!" he said.
