On California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's lapel pin in an official portrait has been painted for the actor turned politician, a small image of Maria Shriver was removed. The couple goes through a divorce recently.
The Republican, actor turned politician left the office almost four years ago, was the star featured in the news earlier this week when the portrait was presented by the state capital of Sacramento.
There are reports that said Maria Shriver had been deleted from the photo-realistic portrait. The legacy of the two term governor was flawed in 2011 when the movie star and Austrian born former body builder admitted in the public that he had a child outside his marriage, more than ten years ago with a household staff of his family.
The shocking revelation came weeks after the divorce of Schwarzenegger and Shriver, who had been together in union for 25 years.
Clay Russell, a former aide of Schwarzengger, confirmed on Friday, through an email that the painting had a small photo of Shriver on the former governor's pin. The portrait was done by an artist long before the couple's separation. But on Monday, it no longer have the small image of Shriver, when it was unveiled on Monday. Though, it was not clear when that might have been removed. The representatives of the actor-politician refused to comment on the matter.
In 2011, Shriver filed for divorce and returned to her previous job in broadcast journalism as a correspondent and special anchor for NBC News. She came from the family of the political clan of Kennedy. As for Schwarzenegger, he returned to acting, in 2013 action film The Last Time and in Te Expendables.
He took the aftermath of the dot-com crash roiled of the state's economy and damaged the state budget, resulting to the win of Governor Gray Davis.
