"Orange is the New Black" writer Lauren Morelli has reportedly divorced her husband for cast Samira Wiley as the series apparently influenced her decisions, according to the latest report from TMZ.
Documents obtained by the gossip news site confirmed that "Orange is the New Black" writer Lauren Morelli did indeed file for divorce from Steve Basilone, her husband of two years. There was no problem on the part of her husband who also supported her petition, "probably because Steve realizes that ship has sailed," TMZ added.
Lauren Morelli admitted that writing about the love affair between Piper and Alex made her realize about her true nature as she "found a mouthpiece for my own desires and a glimmer of what my future could look like."
She then added that she felt like a hypocrite knowing that she liked women yet still married to a man.
The TMZ also has first dibs on what each other got: "Orange is the New Black" writer Lauren Morelli will get her Lexus and her sapphire engagement ring. She will also continue to stay at her apartment. Her husband Steve Basilone, meanwhile, will drive off with the Mazda hatchback.

According to the magazine, the Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli dating rumors were warranted considering that the writer onced confessed to falling in love with another woman, whom she didn't identify, on the set while working on "Orange is the New Black."
"I went through it all on set: I fell in love with a woman, and I watched my life play out on screen. And now, as we are gearing up for the release of Season 2, it feels liberating and appropriate to live my life in front of you," she reportedly said.
