LA Lakers news points to the low rating that Kobe Bryant received in NBA 2K15, the first time that he got below 90, which is still better considering that no other teammate has received a rating above 80. Meanwhile, Jeremy Lin will focus on defense this season as he ramps up on his workout routine.
Drew Garrison dished out on this LA Lakers news on Silver Screen And Roll blog as he wrote that the rating for the Black Mamba is down four points from the 93 in NBA 2K14.
"Only four players will be rated a 90 or above, and the Black Mamba won't be a part of that "exclusive" digital club," he wrote.
Although he conceded that die-hard fans would still choose the LA Lakers when playing the game, they would be hard-pressed to win any contest because no other player in purple and gold has reached a rating of 80.
According to the leak ratings, next to Kobe Bryant with high ratings are new addition Carlos Boozer and Nick Young who both hover in the 78s. Former two-time MVP Steve Nash has the same rating of 76 compared to rookie Julius Randle, while fellow rookie Jordan Clarkson has a rating of 70 due to his lower upside.
Next to Carlos Boozer is Jeremy Lin, who was traded from the Houston Rockets, with a score of 77.
Speaking of Jeremy Lin, fans looking for LA Lakers news would be happy to note that he is working on some defense this offseason.
The former Houston Rockets point guard posted a video on his Instagram about his workout.
He also wrote this caption: "This offseason I have been working really hard on my defense, footwork, and explosiveness. A huge component that I needed to work on is my core stability (having good posture, being able to stay low in my defensive stance, and being able to stay balanced while absorbing contact). Only 19 days left till training camp...can't wait to get back on the court! #LakersNation #PurpleandGold."
