During the Los Angeles red carpet premier on Monday, "Transparent," features a character in the major role of a show which has already produced a strong significant buzz.
According to the site Hollywood Reporter, "No one can ever doubt that the TV model has changed for good. Amazon, with its ability to draw in name talent, is impressively building on what Netflix and (rival streaming service) Hulu are doing."
During the red Carpet, Jeffrey Tambor added that, "This is huge, it's a game changer. There is nothing like this on television," its main star. I couldn't be more proud."
This is not the first time that Amazon teams up with Netflix, its own political comedy called, Alpha House, which premiered in 2013, but way behind other Netflix series Orange is the New Black and House of Cards.
The House of Cards was nominated in two major awards and won big screen director David Fincher in 2013, while this year Orange is the New Black won two Emmys.
The premier episode of Transparent is already on Netflix, while Amazon has published Netflix's book by launching the entire season to spree watch on September 26 instead of airing one episode a week.
The 30 mins dark comedy casts the gloomy Tambor, from Arrested Development of Netflix, as Mort Pfefferman's father revealing transgender Maura to his three adult kids.
As for adult audience, the cast of the show includes Gaby Hoffman from the hit series, Girls.
The director, Jill Solloway added that, "Artistically, it's been a dream come true. I absolutely got to make the show I wanted to make. I am beyond excited to share 'Transparent' with the world through Amazon." In comedies, transgender roles, Orange is the New Black has Laverne Cox, who was in the cover of Time Magazine in her Sophia Burset role.
