Tony winner Laura Benanti has been tapped to join the cast of "Nashville" this season and she will be playing the role of Sadie Stone.
"Nashville" creators have confirmed that not only will Benanti be the newest voice this season, she will also be the one voice that captivates the heart and attention of sketchy record executive Jeff Fordham.
Show runner Dee Johnson dished on Sadie's character and the relationship she will have with Rayna.
"Sadie is somebody that ends up with on Rayna's radar. They connect as women in this business who don't have, say, the baggage that Rayna has with Juliette... It's be an interesting friendship that we see evolve," Johnson told TV Line.
Meanwhile, a series of photos taken from "Nashville's" first episode for the season have also been released, Spoilers Guide reported.
In one of the two photos, Stone was photographed with Fordham. The two were featured looking at Stone's phone. Surprisingly enough, there's a smile on Fordham's face.
The second photo featured Stone enjoying her time at the bar, all by herself. It is unclear whether or not that was where she and Fordham first met but judging from her attire in both images, it seems highly likely.
"Nashville" season 3 will kick off the first episode for the season this coming October 1 and it will be entitled "How Far Down Can I Go," KSiteTV noted.
ABC has also unveiled an official description for the first episode that read, "After Will's debut album bumps Rayna's to second place, she's more determined than ever to make Highway 65 and her record a hit. In turn, she decides to pursue some new and unexpected opportunities for publicity, including a visit to 'Good Morning America,' where her friend Luke Bryan surprises her on stage."
